Results from the MacDolphins loss to Devereaux are now available. Althought the tight Devereaux pool deck was a bit chaotic, other than a few late scratches and no-shows in the 9-10 boys which scrambled the heat sheet, we had very few issues this week.

Cary City Meet Results

Results from the MacDolphins who swam in the Cary City Meet are now availale. The MacDolphins placed 21st out of 27 teams and had a number of strong individual performances. Ashling Murphy placed 14th overall in the 9-10 girls and John Foernzler 10th overall in the 9-10 boys. All swimmers should be proud of their performance.

MacDolphins fall to Devereaux

The MacDolphins lost to the Devereaux Devil Rays tonight 320.5-193.5. Pictures, results, and more will posted in the next day or two.

Next up, the Swim Team banquet on Thursday evening at the MDCC main clubhouse.

Devereaux Directions and Parking

Parking Guidance from Devereaux’s TSA Representative for the meet at the Devereaux Pool today, July 21st:

Please remind your team that the parking lot is reserved for them but is very small .Carpooling would be very beneficial. We have had some unfortunate events with disgruntled neighbors calling the Town of Cary police over cars parked too close to their driveways, mailboxes and stop signs so please heed the NO PARKING signs. We would hate to end the season on a sour note and have anyone ticketed.

Thanks so much for your understanding. We do look forward to hosting you and hope the evening will be clear and uneventful.

MDCC vs Devereaux Meet Logistics and Scratches

Next Tuesday the MacDolphins will swim the final meet of 2009 against the Devereaux Devil Rays at Devereaux. Devereaux has about 100 swimmers, so we will have swimmers swimming in Devereaux lanes in some heats. We still need to make sure that we know if your swimmers will be scratched from the Devereaux meet ASAP. The coaches completed their preliminary heat sheet on Friday.

Scratches

It is important that you scratch if you will not be at the Devereaux meet.

As of this posting, the MacDolphins have 46 full or partial scratches. Please check the Devereaux scratch list to confirm your swimmer(s) name is listed if they will not be at the meet. Please refer to the process for scratching from a meet if you will not be at the Devereaux meet (or any other meet as well). If your swimmers need to leave the meet early, you can also do a partial scratch via the web site or via e-mail (scratch@macdolphins.org).

Check the Devereaux swim meet page to review the current scratch list.

If you have any questions or run into problems regarding scratches, please don’t hesitate to contact Mike Walsh.

Logisitcs

We are working with Devereaux in advance in an effort to run the meet more efficiently. We will be bringing our starter and Dolphin timing system to Devereaux as they do not have a system of their own. Their timers will use our watches since we expect to have our swimmers in their lanes for a number of events.

Devereaux uses a system developed by one of their parents for meet management so there will be some adjustments made to heat and lane assignments on the pool deck as we cannot combine our entries ahead of time..

Volunteers

Volunteer sheets for all meets have been updated.
