There were a number of requests for copies of the slide show during the swim team banquet.  There isn’t a true slide show this year but you can download a ISO compilation of all of the pictures which can be burned to a blank DVD or mounted as a virtual DVD using a tool like Virtual Clone Drive.

The pictures have also been assembled as a collage into a gigantic 36″x24″ poster.  You can download this file and have it printed at Wal-Mart, Wolf Camera, or a number other places.  Can you find yourself or your swimmers in the collage?

The MacDolphins finished tied with Apex for the Southen League Division 5 title.  Both teams finished 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the division.

Results

The results are abbreviated due to weather ending the meet early.  Scores and place information have been entered and appear on the results.

Unfortunately we missed a few times last night due to a battery issue and a misunderstanding with one of the timers.  There is also a good chance that a few times may have been assigned to the wrong swimmer.  We had quite a few no-shows and while we make every effort to keep track of which swimmer is in which lane, the changes aren’t always documented.  If you see something which doesn’t make sense, contact Mike Walsh and we’ll see what we can do to straighten it out.

The MacDolphins had a great showing from the small number of swimmers who participated.  The MacDolphins finished 15th out of 25 teams scoring 252 points.  Congratulations to Ashling Murphy who won the 9-10 girls Breaststroke event and finished 2nd in the 9-10 individual points.

Results

The results are available in two formats.  The traditional MacDolphins results report and a overall CCM summary which has been annotated to highlight the MacDolphins results.

URGENT

If your swimmers are not swimming Wednesday night, please scratch as soon as possible.

Rescheduling a meet plays havoc with the heat sheet so we need to know if your swimmers are going to scratch as soon as possible.  Swimmers that were scratched tonight ARE ASSUMED to be scratched again unless they are unscratched.  Scratch (or unscratch) via the web site, via e-mail, or via text message to 919-410-MDCC (6322).

There are a lot of things to do between the end of the meet and the swim team banquet so getting an accurate scratch list will help expedite all of the post meet work.

Volunteers

If the rescheduled meet creates a problem for your volunteer commitment, please recruit someone to replace you, or contact Bev Speroff (psperoff@aol.com) so she can make alternate arrangements.

Parents: We may need fill in volunteers – if you are at the meet and can help, see Bev when you arrive.  In particular, Apex is reluctant to use our watches so we may need some extra timers to time lanes 1, 3, and 5 when we have swimmers in Apex lanes.  Parents of 7-8 boys and 11-12 girls, your swimmers are most frequently placed in Apex lanes because we significantly outnumber Apex in these two age groups.

Tuesday, July 20 – Swim meet

• Our last swim meet of the season will be versus the Apex Breakers.  THIS SHOULD BE A CLOSE, EXCITING MEET!  Click here for directions.  Please be on deck and ready to warm up by 5:30 p.m.
• Please remember to scratch you swimmer(s) from the meet if you do not plan to be there! Please scratch online, send an email to scratch@macdolphins.org, or send a text message to 919-410-MDCC.  This is particularly important this week with the short period of time between the swim meet and swim team banquet.
• We have several unfilled volunteer positions … please contact Bev Speroff if you can help out.

Thursday, July 22 – Banquet

Swim Team Banquet - Join us for a Mexican Fiesta swim team banquet and awards night onThursday, July 22.  The banquet buffet begins at 6 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.  Please RSVP for the dinner no later than Monday, July 19 by registering at the MacGregor Downs website or by calling the club at 467-0146. The cost of dinner will be $12 for 13 years old and older and $6  for 12 and unders.  Following the awards ceremony, join us at the pool for the ever popular slide show and swim from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.!
