The results from the last night’s MacDolphins swim meet against the Apex Breakers are now available.

The results are abbreviated due to weather ending the meet early. Scores and place information have been entered and appear on the results.

Unfortunately we missed a few times last night due to a battery issue and a misunderstanding with one of the timers. There is also a good chance that a few times may have been assigned to the wrong swimmer. We had quite a few no-shows and while we make every effort to keep track of which swimmer is in which lane, the changes aren’t always documented. If you see something which doesn’t make sense, contact Mike Walsh and we’ll see what we can do to straighten it out.

Cary City Meet Results

Results from the 2010 Cary City Meet are now available.

The MacDolphins had a great showing from the small number of swimmers who participated. The MacDolphins finished 15th out of 25 teams scoring 252 points. Congratulations to Ashling Murphy who won the 9-10 girls Breaststroke event and finished 2nd in the 9-10 individual points.

Away Meet vs Apex Tuesday July 20

The MacDolphins last swim meet of the 2010 season is an away meet on Tuesday, July 20th against the Apex Breakers. Apex is off Salem Street in downtown Apex. Allow 15 minutes travel time from MDCC to Apex. Here are some particulars:

6 & Unders will swim first (good news!!)
There is parking in the parking lot and the grass area adjacent to the pool. After these areas fill up, we can park along the street adjacent to the pool. They asked us to encourage carpooling to cut down on the number of people that will have to park along the street.
They have a modest snack bar with pizza, hotdogs and drinks.

Scratchs and No-Shows

For the Park Village meet we had a total of 47 scratches and no-shows. Very few of the scratches come in after the heat sheets had been prepared. We only had 1 no-show at the Park Village meet! Thank you parents for scratching your swimmers! A few late scratches are anticipated and happen at every meet but No-Shows really make the jobs of the coaches and volunteers harder than they need to be.

Please don’t wait until the last minute, if your swimmer(s) won’t be at the meet and haven’t scratched yet, please do so ASAP. If you aren’t sure, double check the Apex scratch list to make sure your swimmer is listed. The scratch system has been improved to include a confirmation e-mail once the scratch has been entered into the system.

NOTE: Telling one of the coaches at swim practice that your swimmer(s) will not be at a meet does not mean they are on the scratch list – you still need to submit your scratch using the web site, email, or text message.

Thank you parents!

A special thank you to all of the MacDolphins parents from your Technical Team. We only had 1 no-show last night so our heat sheet was very clean. It took a little more than an hour to process the few deck changes and load the times from the timing system and points from the score sheet and produce a results report. Thanks to everyone who submitted your scratches early, it really helps a lot.

MacDolphins defeat Park Village 213-160

The MacDolphins won their 4th meet of the season tonight. The MacDolphins defeated Park Village 213-160. Unfortunately weather once again played havoc with the swim meet, causing the meet to be called complete just after the 15-18 girls Breast Stroke Main Event due to lightning.
