First Meet of the Season: MDCC vs Apex
- Swimmers should be at the pool by 4:30 for check in and numbering so warm ups can start on time at 5:00. The swimmer check in table will be located near the entrance of the pool. Please make sure to check in when you arrive at the pool.
- The MDCC snack bar will not be serving food during the swim meet, only candy will be sold from the snack bar. Food will be available for purchase from the Home Swim Meet menu which will be set up under the awning in the baby pool enclosure.
- Not going to be at the Apex meet? Please make sure you scratch your swimmers! Not sure how to scratch? Complete instructions are on the web site.
Volunteers Needed for Apex Meet
The MacDolphins urgently need to fill four volunteer positions for the Apex Meet.
- Timer 1st half (this is a critical need and one of the best volunteer positions!)
- Pasta Pump-Up Host for Monday night (Pasta Pump-Up is for swimmers who are 13 and older. It is preferred that the host live within 3 mile radius from MDCC to minimize travel time and ride logistics).
- 2 Wacky Wednesday volunteers
If you can fill any of these positions, please sign up online or contact Beverly Speroff ASAP!
Reminder: All MacDolphins families are required to complete four (4) volunteer commitments this season.
Time Trials
- Results from Time Trials have been posted.
- Pictures and a Slide Show from Time Trials have been posted.
Coaches Corner
Coach Elyse has posted her latest edition of Coach’s Corner – be sure to check it out, it contains some great information!
Scratches and No-Shows
Yes, one more reminder about scratches and no-shows! It is particularly important this week because (a) Apex is a large team so there will be lots of heats, particularly for 7-8 boys and 11-12 girls, and (b) Mike Walsh will be out of town so Coach Elyse and Terri Hamrick will be handling the computer tasks without Mike.
We are asking you to make a special effort to get any scratches in early for the Apex meet. The scratch deadline is Monday at 7:00 PM. Coach Elyse and her staff will set the meet line up Monday night.
If you are wondering why Scratches and in particular No-Shows, are such a big deal, please check out this post from last season (you can ignore the section about the battery problems at the beginning) where the we explain what the impact of a no-show swimmer is.
The MacDolphins have made it very easy to scratch. If you have a cell phone, you can text your scratch to 919-410-MDCC (919-410-6322). You can also scratch via e-mail (scratch@macdolphins.org) or by logging into the web site and entering your scratch information.
Spirit Wear
