Coaches Corner 6/24/2011

Hello MacDolphins!

I’m sorry this post is coming to you a bit late- I was out of town for a couple of days, but I am back now.  Thanks for you patience!

Thank you so much for everyone who was at the meet on Wednesday night.  The smoke pushed it back a day, but I do not believe it could have gone any better.  The volunteers were on point, the parents were a great support and the swimmers were on fire! We had about 176 best times!

Congratulations to the swimmers who got 100% best times! Aine Lynch, Alex Weaver, F.J. Cullen, Kristen Smedley, Parker Gorman and Sarah DiPangrazio

This past Thursday we had Coach Roz return to work  with the 7 & Ups on their butterfly.  He and his helpers from RSA also helped the older kids perfect their flip turns.  To continue with the fun, Friday’s practice was Costume Day!  I missed seeing all the crazy costumes, but I heard the kids got pretty creative!

July 6th is the last day to register for Cary City and I am encouraging every swimmer who is able to attend.  It will be on Saturday July 16th and is a great experience.  The kids will have the chance to a swim a ton of swimmers from every team in the area and they also get to choose what they want to swim.  You can sign up online or send an email to carycitymeet@macdolphins.org.  As of right now we have 9 kids registered and we would love to have more.  If we could make up a relay for each of the age groups, it would insure that each kid has a friend there and something to get excited about.  Each participant will be able to make fun posters, receive a special treat and they will also be recognized at the banquet.  Sign up before the deadline passes!

Thanks again for all of your support these past months and I can’t wait for our meet against the Regency Riptides on Tuesday July 28th.  Don’t forget to scratch!

Please email me or find me at practice with questions/concerns!
