The MacDolphins last swim meet of the 2010 season is an away meet on Tuesday, July 20th against the Apex Breakers.  Apex is off Salem Street in downtown Apex.  Allow 15 minutes travel time from MDCC to Apex.  Here are some particulars:

• 6 & Unders will swim first (good news!!)
• There is parking in the parking lot and the grass area adjacent to the pool.  After these areas fill up, we can park along the street adjacent to the pool.  They asked us to encourage carpooling to cut down on the number of people that will have to park along the street.
• They have a modest snack bar with pizza, hotdogs and drinks.

Scratchs and No-Shows

For the Park Village meet we had a total of 47 scratches and no-shows.  Very few of the scratches come in after the heat sheets had been prepared.  We only had 1 no-show at the Park Village meet! Thank you parents for scratching your swimmers! A few late scratches are anticipated and happen at every meet but No-Shows really make the jobs of the coaches and volunteers harder than they need to be.

Please don’t wait until the last minute, if your swimmer(s) won’t be at the meet and  haven’t scratched yet, please do so ASAP. If you aren’t sure, double check the Apex scratch list to make sure your swimmer is listed.  The scratch system has been improved to include a confirmation e-mail once the scratch has been entered into the system.

NOTE: Telling one of the coaches at swim practice that your swimmer(s) will not be at a meet does not mean they are on the scratch list – you still need to submit your scratch using the web site, email, or text message.
