Swim Team News: July 12 – 16

MacDolphins beat the Highcroft Hurricanes 290.5 to 221.5 (meet photos, team records).

On Tuesday the MacDolphins face the Park Village Porpoises. Click here for directions and additional information.  Please plan to be on deck ready to warm up by 5:30 p.m.

Please remember to scratch from the meet if you do not plan to be there! (Note:  Please scratch online, send an email to scratch@macdolphins.org, or send a text message to 919-410-MDCC.  It is not sufficient to tell one of the coaches that your swimmer will not be at the swim meet.  For better or for worse, we are now hopelessly reliant on the computer, so we need you to let us know electronically!  Thanks.)

We have several unfilled volunteer positions … please contact Bev Speroffif you can help out.

And now, another thoughtful message from Lori Foernzler (regarding the Highcroft swim meet) …

Hi MacDolphins!

What a great swim meet with such a short list of swimmers!  There were outstanding swims by everyone and some really close finishes.  More importantly everyone had fun with their friends and in the pool.

I know that I said this last week, but please let your swimmers know we are guests for the last of the meets.  There was a lot of trash lying around the pool deck with trash cans sitting right there.  It takes just a few extra steps to throw trash in a can instead of on the ground.

Also, (at the Highcroft meet) some of our swimmers wrote on the pool deck with crayons … one phrase was not friendly or sportsmanlike.  Thanks to one of the parents this phrase was removed, but there was far too much for him to even try removing the rest.  Our kids are all good kids, and I’m sure this was something that was done in the excitement of the moment.  Please gently remind your swimmers that crayons and paper go together, not crayons and pool decks.

See you at the pool!
