The wireless timing system which the the MacDolphins have been raising money to purchase, arrived last week. The MacDolphins are now the proud owners of a Colorado Time Systems Dolphin Wireless Stopwatch Timing System.
We have 7 handheld timers (one for each lane plus a spare), and a new starting system which ensure that all timers start simultaneously! As a volunteer timer this year your job will be much, much easier. The timer will start running when the starter starts the race and when the swimmer in your lane touches the wall, all you have to do is press the stop button! The time is wirelessly sent to a laptop from where it will be loaded into our swim team database.
How cool is that?!?
We will have the wireless timing system at the Swim Team kickoff party this coming Friday so you can check it out.
We’ll also have it at practice several times a week before time trials. If you have volunteered to be a timer this season, please take an opportunity to try out the new timers before Time Trials.
