Background
The Swim Team received approval from the Executive Committee to raise $3,100 from members to purchase the Dolphin Wireless Stopwatch System and a new laptop. These items will significantly reduce the number of volunteer hours required to run a meet and manage swimmer data with improved accuracy.
The fundraising plan and product information are listed below. Fundraising Plan
· $2,270 in pledges were received at the Swim Team Banquet on July 29. An additional $830 needs to be raised.
· Suggested minimum donation of $15 per swimmer.
· Swim Team email donation request will be sent to swimmer families not present at the banquet via the MacDolphins website requesting a minimum donation of $15 per swimmer.
· Checks will be made payable to MacGregor Downs and will be deposited in Account M821, a designated MacDolphins Special Purchase account.. All funds will be held until final amount is raised.
· February 2009, anticipated purchase date
· Any funds raised over the $3,100 purchase price will be used to purchase the upgraded ‘auto start’ timing component & coach specified swim team equipment (flippers and foam lane boards).

Dolphin Wireless Stopwatch Timing System
· Computer controlled timing system made by industry leader, Colorado Time Systems, fully integrated into existing swim team software system (WinSwim)
· Provides accurate and timely swimmer data to coaches, swimmers and parents, the #1 improvement request
· Reduces volunteer time by 42 hours per season or 6 hours per meet (7 timed events per season)
· Permits data exchange with other teams
· Requires ‘technology crew’ of 3-4 parents per season. Two have already committed.
